Creative Industries Center

Vienna decided to focus on Creative Industries as one of the new economic motors in society. This part of economics mainly deals with small and micro businesses, cooperating in various forms on the basis that they are situated close to each other. An additional feature is the spatial connection of living and working. The Creative Industries Center, Busshelter Engertstrasse, should link these two advantages with inexpensive rents.
The scheduled rent system should take into consideration the creative field, such as media production, music, design, graphic art, advertising/marketing, and visual art on the one hand, and service oriented facilities such as copy shops, office service, accounting, tax and legal counseling, on the other. The planned art/film depot will be run and rent separately.
Through flexible space planning, units between 50 and 220 m2 can be created and used optimally, since the existing network makes it possible to source out certain forms of service. This results in synergies which engender a great deal of net operating services at low costs.
A highly developed technical infrastructure like wireless LAN and broad band internet in every unit, a service pool, flexibly usable community facilities and spaces such as conference rooms and a cafe create the perfect environment for residents with an artistic and creative background.
Through the use of wood as well as an open industrial development with each being connected to the outside, the building and operational costs are lower than those of traditional construction projects.
